However none of those batsman’s lived up to the expectation except for couple of them showed some promise in the beginning. UFC lost all of their wickets in regular intervals, where they lost the 1st wicket at 6 runs in the 1st delivery of 2nd over of the game. Other opener of UFC followed his partner just 6 deliveries apart only adding 12 runs to the score. By then UFC had lost 2 wickets for 18 runs in 2.1 overs. However Murad Ali and Kashif Shahzad showed some consistency in the middle for a brief period before Murad miscued it up in the air. So he lost his wicket in the 5th over after UFC reached 50 runs on the board. He scored 19 of 12 deliveries with a maximum and 2 boundaries. Kashif followed him immediately of a brilliant diving catch at the Mid-off region. At that time Kashif had scored 23 of 9 deliveries with 2 maximums and 2 boundaries. End of the fielding restriction UFC was in a spot of bother losing 4 top order wickets for 52 runs. Opponents kept on increasing the pressure on the UFCians while 2 batsman’s in the middle Raja Waseem and Azhar Shahbaz was trying to lay a foundation to the batting lineup. However their efforts failed when Azhar got out in the 10th over adding 16 runs to the partnership. Azhar scored 12 of 17 deliveries and UFC were 69 for 5 end of 10 overs. There were no other highlight in the innings since no other batsman could help the cause and Waseem kept on losing his partners on the other end until he got himself out at 12 of 18 deliveries in the 14th over. At the time he got out UFC only managed to add 83 runs to the board losing 9 wickets. In the process UFC ended their innings in the following over just scoring 88 runs. Getting UFC All Out under 15 overs and below par Score Opponents were the firm favorites to go into the Semifinals, by possessing a strong and explosive batting line up. Active Telematics Innings - 62 All Out in 13 Overs (Rajesh 16/4, Gulraiz 9/3 & Zahid 19/2) Gulraiz having failed with the Bat, he was on the money with the Ball. He opened the bowling attack with Rajesh Mandadi. He put the opponent's back foot from the 1st delivery of the innings where Opener had no clue how he lost his leg stump when he left the ball, which was on his leg side expecting it to be wide. However ball did enough to swung-in to take his stumps out, and he followed up with another wicket to get rid of the in-form batsman Shehzad who had an average over 50 before this game. He got out of a brilliant slip catch by Murad who jumped up in the air to grab an outside edge of Shehzad which flowing towards 3rd man region. With that put opponents to a panicking stage where they had lost 2 main wickets for just 1 runs in 4 deliveries. UFCians knowing that the only way to win this games by taking wickets, Rajesh joined his opening partner with 2 more back to back wickets in his over. With that pressure mounting towards Active they lost 4 wickets for 4 runs in just 2 overs. 2 Batsman’s came in, tried their best to hang on in the middle under a tremendous pressure and extremely disciplined bowling by the UFCian bowlers Gulraiz and Rajesh. Batsman’s never got any room to free their arms and Gulraiz capture his 3rd victim when another good fielding displayed behind the stumps by Shreejith who took a low catch to put Active 11 for loss of 5 wickets. Shreejith took another scalp under his belt repeating the same fashion catch of Rajesh who had replied to his partner with a wicket in back to back overs. With that Active was in deep trouble losing 6 wickets to just 18 runs end of the fielding restrictions. However UFC at this stage was way ahead scoring 52 for 4 down. Both the opening bowlers having turned the dead rubber game in favor of UFC, skipper opted to bowl them out. Gulraiz who excelled with the ball after experiencing a disastrous batting performance, turned the table for UFC by bowling 4 overs for 9 runs and capturing most important 3 wickets. While Rajesh who went one step ahead to take out the dangerous Zahid on his final delivery, He completed his spell of 4 overs taking 4 wickets for 16 runs. At this stage Active had no response to UFC's sharp bowling attack where they were 26 for 7 after 8 overs. Only hope they had was their no.6 batsman Adil who was recognized for his capabilities of hitting maximums. However he also ran out of options when he continuously lost partners from the other end. UCF’s speedster Zahid Fazal came into the party only in the 9th over and straightaway he kept on piling up the pressure that was built by his fellow mates. 1st over he just gave 1 run off a wide delivery and continued with a wicket maiden over. In that 2nd over Zahid took 2 back to back wickets and Golden Hands of Shreejith Sasidharan behind the stumps collected simple catch to put his 3rd dismissal under his belt, while other was safely taken by Azhar at the Point Region. With that opponents were in deep trouble losing 9 wickets for 33 runs end of 11 overs. Adil who came as number 6 was witnessing 5 partners walking back to the pavilion. Eventually He decided to take the full responsibilities of scoring 56 of 9 overs onto his own hands as the last pair left in the middle. As he changed his gears and going "Boom Boom" style put some scare to UFCians for a brief period. He managed to score 29 runs of next 11 deliveries giving some hope to his camp. However his intention of taking a single in the last delivery was well read by the UFCians, therefore Skipper decided to bring-in all their fielders to inside the circle. However his partner completely misread the situation and decided to take a quick single of the last ball to avoid taking the strike, in which created the opportunity for UFC to run him out. Well written script by the Skipper for the final delivery, executed perfectly by himself when Faesal Hosain collected the ball safely and ran towards the non-strikers end. Both the batsman’s found in Strikers end and that marked the end of Active innings. Zahid also enjoyed the dominance of bowling with his impressive figures of 19 for 2 in 3 overs. With that the incredible low scoring game ended up in favor of UFC proving the unpredictability of this game. Later that evening KL Stars went onto beat Jenan Cowboys in the other Quarter Finals and they will meet UFC for the Semi Finals on 25th of September which will be scheduled to play at Malaysia’s Home of Cricket, Kinrara Oval Grounds. Result: UFC won by 26 Runs Man of the Match: Muhammad Gulraiz and Rajesh Mandadi
