Active Telematics beat UFC by 6 wickets

Match Update: UFC vs Active Telematics – Quarter Finals Played on Friday 20th May 2016 at Kinrara Oval, Puchong Toss: Won by UFC and elected to bat first

UFC Innings – 146 for 8 in 20 overs (Shreejith 37, Varun 29 & Murad 15)

In a flat pitch winning the toss skipper Gopal decided to bat first. 1st delivery of the game saw in-form batsmen Usman goes for duck and 2nd wicket also followed couple of deliveries later. Then Murad joined with Opener Dheeraj to reconstruct the UFC innings and only lasted for 4 overs where both of them put up a 28 runs partnership when Murad got out for 18 runs of 18 deliveries, at the time UFC were 30 for 3 in the 5th overs. Right next over Dheeraj also got out after scoring 13 of 15 deliveries in front of the good bowling attack by Active.

Shreejith and Azhar got together to put up a 38 runs partnership for the 5th wicket and Azhar got out at 14, where UFC were struggling at 74 for 5 beginning of the 12th over. Man in form Varun joined Shreejith to pull the score up to 113 runs of the 16th over before Shreejith got out at 37 of 30 deliveries. Couple of overs later UFC lost another wicket making way for skipper Gopal joining Varun. Then Varun went as the 8th dismissal for UFC when score was at 146 and only 1 delivery left of UFC innings. Varun got out for 29 runs of 25 deliveries and end of the innings Gopal scored undefeated 15 of 9.

Active Telematics Innings – 147 for 4 in 18.5 overs (Murad 28/2, Sandeep 19/1 & Gopal 40/1)

Opponents coming into bat UFC knew they had to get wickets and attack from the beginning to put the pressure on them. However skipper introduced fast and spinning combination to start the innings and first delivery of Sandeep took a wicket for UFC marking opponents were 6 for 1 in the 2nd over. Anyhow opponents bounced back with a 44 run partnership in next 6 overs. With the introduction of skipper himself resulted the 2nd wicket of a brilliant piece of work in the outfield where Sandeep hold on to a magnificent catch. Thereafter opponents never look back and put up another 75 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. It was unfortunate for UFC where they were unable to hold on to the opportunities created by the bowlers. However Murad succeeded to break the 3rd wicket partnership in the 16th over ad manage to take another in the same over sending opponents to 134 for 4 in 16 overs. Same time should highlight the bowling efforts of Jithin and Zahid who bowled superbly to keep the opponents at the bay by bowling figures of 17 in 4 overs by Jithin and 24 of 3.5 overs by Zahid. And also Sandeep ended his 3 overs spell bowling inside the power play giving only 19 in 3 overs taking 1 wicket. It was a great effort by UFC and ended the series with a good fight.
