GM Hotels beat UFC by 9 wickets

Match Update: UFC vs GM Hotels – Game 4 of 7 Played on Saturday 2nd April 2016 at Kinrara Oval, Puchong Toss: Won by UFC and elected to bat first

UFC Innings – 116 All Out in 19.4 overs (Usman 26, Ameen 20 & Murad 17)

Captain Ameen winning the toss opted to bat first. Opening pair for UFC Captain Ameen and Usman put up a quick-fire 36 runs partnership in 4.5 overs. Ameen got out at 20 as the 1st wicket for UFC. And there was another 36 runs stand for the 2nd wicket between Usman and Murad. Unfortunately Usman got out after scoring 26 in 17 deliveries, UFC were 72 for 2 in 8.2 overs. 3 deliveries later, adding only 2 more runs to the total Murad lost his wicket where he only managed to score 17 runs in his short stay.

UFC failed to capitalize the good start given by the top order and they lost 3 more wickets within a span of 4 overs only adding 13 runs to the total (UFC 87 for 6 in 12.5 overs). Only hope left for UFC was Sandeep who was the no. 4 batsman and he saw all the wickets tumbling other end. After composing a calm 13 runs he was forced to leave the grounds with a back injury (Retired Hurt). At the time Sandeep and Koji put up a respectable 20 runs partnership at a time of UFC losing grounds of the game. When he left the grounds UFC were 107 runs in 17.4 overs. However UFC lost next 3 wickets in 2 overs only adding 9 runs. UFC ended their innings in 19.4 overs managing to score a respectable 116 runs in a slow turning pitch.

GM Hotels Innings – 117 for 1 after 14.5 overs (Murad 31/1, Sukrith 11/0, Ameen 19/0, Zahid 27/0)

Only having 117 runs to defend not many success had with the ball. Opponents put up 47 runs at the end of field restriction where UFC was 46 for 1 at the same stage. UFC minus their primary spin bowler Sandeep forced them to bring their all-rounder Murad and Ameen into the attack in the 6th over. They able to control the runs flowing freely but unable to succeed with wickets, 1st wicket of GM Hotels fell only at 70 runs in the 10th over of Murad’s delivery and an excellent work done by Usman behind the wicket running back to grab a fine catch. Thereafter opponents never looked back and went all guns blazing till the game was over to secure a well deserved victory under their belt in the 15th over leaving UFC a 9 wickets defeat. UFCians are in must win situation now on and they are well recognized for bouncing back and coming strong everytime they fall.
